I photographed Catherine & Russell's wedding five years to the day since I photographed my first wedding. Still to this day every wedding I shoot gives me butterflies and this one was no exception. Shooting a wedding should not be second nature as every couple is different, the dynamics of a wedding change, moments are fleeting and you never know what is going to unfold. Surely that is butterfly inducing?!?!
Catherine and Russell met when Catherine set off to the UK to work, travel and spend time with her UK family. Not only did she take home with her a whole lot of travel experiences, but also a husband-to-be. Russell's family and a few friends made the trip out to Perth but Catherine's grandparents could not, so they joined the wedding via the wonderful app that is Skype.
They got married on the foreshore of Matilda Bay on a beautiful, hot March day and they headed to some shade for a quick portrait session before heading back to Matilda Bay restaurant for the sunset and the reception.
Thanks to the amazing Mandy for second shooting on the day!
Congratulations Catherine & Russell and I hope you enjoy the photos!
