Sarah & Damian: Perth Wedding Photography

I had such a hard time limiting the images for the blog posting!  I love shooting a home wedding and Sarah & Damian’s wedding was pretty spectacular as their property at the foothills of Perth surrounded by bushland and farms.  The backyard was looking stunning after months of hard work, the marque was set up and the sounds of the trio Wonderful with Wine greeting guests.

Sarah was a stunning bride and her dress was amazing!

I love this shot where Sarah’s Grandmother is playing with her own wedding ring as everyone was getting their hair and makeup done:

While I was with Sarah & the girls, Dale was shooting Damian as he was getting ready.

I chose a selection of Dale’s shots for the ceremony images, because he used his 70-200 lens, getting in close to record the special moments.

After the ceremony at Sarah & Damian’s house, I left Dale to shoot the guests having a great time while we went off for photos.  These next images were taken from behind their property on a bridle path, looking back at their property.  The light was simply stunning for them and what an amazing place to call home!

We then went to a part on the way to the beach.  I love the way their hands are entwined in this image :)

Doesn’t Sarah just look amazing in the next series of images?  This is my favourite time of year to shoot as you get the such beautiful light.

After the park we headed to the beach for a sunset session…  There was this submarine snorkel sticking out of the grounds!  I love finding bizarre backdrops at a shoot!

Again, how is the light!  Breaking rules, shooting into the sun but oh my goodness!

They watched the sunset go down… ok I admit then there was the cheesy love heart in the sand!

On the way back to the reception we stopped off at this little industrial area…

And they partied for the rest of the night…

Thankyou Sarah & Damian for inviting us to photograph your wedding!  It was simply beautiful!

Anna & Chris: Wedding Photography

Anna & Chris met a the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, through the mud and music!  They spent the next few years living in the UK and traveling the globe (so jealous of their South American adventures!) before moving to Perth in 2008.

Chris is from NZ and his family were all at Heathcote waiting for Anna & Chris to arrive and say their wedding vows.  But before they arrived, I got to see them first for their ‘first look’ photos.

I met a nervous Chris at Point Walter Reserve and he waited patiently for Anna to arrive.  Meeting before the ceremony for some photos is gaining popularity for a number of reasons.  You get to have a more private moment when you first see each other on your wedding day and take the time to talk about the pending nuptials  together.  Also if, like Anna & Chris, your ceremony and reception are at the same location and later in the day (which was essential on this hot December day) it means you don’t have to leave the guests for the bridal portraits, you can just go straight into party mode with your family and friends!

Thank you Anna & Chris for inviting me to share your wonderful day with me, I hope you enjoy the photos!
