I wanted a quiet Australia Day and Dale was busy helping set up the Core slider jam (some kitesurfing competition that needs to build big structures sticking out of the water, pictures to come next week if I can brave going down and watching Dale compete…).
In the afternoon there was the obligatory BBQ in the backyard (with 3 attendees, me, Dale and a very happy Lolabear) listening to the end of the JJJ hottest 100 countdown. After deciding to head down to the river we hopped on the bikes and rode for a few minutes to get to the Mount Pleasant foreshore where we managed to nab a great spot to view the fireworks. Of course I had my camera with me but only a 24-70mm lens.
Here are some of the shots I caught of the 30 minute Perth Sky Show. All taken at ISO 6400(5D MII yup I can push it up that far!) with a shutter speed of around 1/200 of a second. It was my first attempt at fireworks so not a masterpiece but these images made me happy! Have a great weekend!!!

By the way I am blogging this from a wedding down south!!! Not really, I discovered that I can SCHEDULE my blog posts, so while I am photographing my little heart out (and scrunching up my face behind the camera which I discovered last week - photo here), I can be really organised and pre-post a few images… this could mean I will become really organised with my blog posting schedule, or um maybe not, but it is good to know I could… if I wanted to.

I had a fabulous shoot with this gorgeous family at the start of the month. It was a beautiful sunny day at Heathcote Reserve, perfect for spending time on the beach, at the playground and just hanging out on the grass!

Miss Ruby wasn’t too impressed with me or my camera but I think I managed to capture some moments when she was happy playing around and not worried about the camera.
If you would like to see some more images there are a few more uploaded to my Flickr site here.

I was really excited about photographing Michelle & Joe’s wedding after having such a great pre-wedding session with them a few weeks beforehand. My boyfriend was my second shooter for only his second wedding (lucky me the surf wasn’t up so he wasn’t shooting elsewhere ie. the beach!) and he got some great images of the boys before the ceremony, angled shots from the balcony where I stationed him and some great candid shots of guests after the ceremony. It helps so much to have a second shooter and I love that one moment can be captured in 2 separate images.
Michelle & Joe were married at Wesley College (where Joe attended school) and had location shots at UWA (where Michelle goes to Uni), Mounts Bay and on the foreshore of Matilda Bay, before there reception at Matilda Bay Restaurant.
Joe, Michelle and their families are so amazingly warm and friendly, so I would like to say a big thank you to all!! I have such lovely clients who make it so easy for me to love being a wedding photographer!
I hope you enjoy this selection of images

I love this picture of Michelle.

Dale’s shot of the rings.
Dale’s shot of Joe and my shot of Michelle. The exact moment Joe sees Michelle for the first time on their wedding day taken from two different views.
