ANWEN + TYSON {Fremantle Engagement Photography}

They live in Sydney but are having their wedding in Perth and had a weekend over here to sort out some of their wedding details.  They also had time to meet me in Fremantle for their E Session! YAY!

So an E Session is useful for a couple of reasons.  Firstly to get yourselves use to being in front of the camera.  Not many people enjoy having their photo taken, it is intimidating having this great big lens in front of you, and looking at a camera, instead of a face when you look at your photographer is really weird (I speak from firsthand experience now after I had a photoshoot last week!).  Another reason is for me (your photographer) to figure out the couple, how you interact, and how I can capture this in the best way.

So as I trawl through the images from Anwen and Tyson from our hour session I can see that I am not going to make them hold hands and stare into the camera with blank looks on their faces.  Look at how they smile and laugh with each other, for the whole hour.  They would start talking to each other then burst out laughing!  I also probably won't need to tell them to smile during their wedding day.  Looking forward to their wedding in December!

SANDY ♥ JIM {FREMANTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY}

When I met Sandy and Jim, Sandy told me that their wedding was going to be a little offbeat and quirky.  They didn't want a traditional wedding with the two hours between ceremony and reception for photos, but instead, they wanted their wedding to be a massive party for their family and friends.  And holy-moly, what a party it was!

Firstly, Sandy and Jim had a 'first look' at the Fremantle Esplanade Hotel, before heading down to the A shed for a few portraits undercover from the rain.  Then their ceremony was in the fabulous Victoria Hall in Fremantle.  Not traditionally a wedding ceremony location, the stage provided the perfect setting for their vows.  Then it was off to Moore & Moore for their Fairground themed cocktail reception!

A photobooth, candy bar, facepainter and balloon guy awaited guests when they entered the reception!  The next few hours, guests mingled and ate the delicious food, had their faces painted, wrote our fortunes for Sandy & Jim, ate from the candy bar (I believe this should be a requirement at every wedding, a little sherbet definitely helps getting the guests mingling and the photographer hyperactive...), perused the erotic art drawn at Sandy's very highbrow hen's night and had their photos taken in the booth.  Then there were the formal speeches which were not that formal and then the first dance.  Sandy & Jim started their first dance awkwardly before Samba Drummers burst their way onto the dancefloor and surprised the guests with their groovy beats and spiffy costumes!  Everyone got into the Samba action and for around 30 minutes the building shook with the drumming and dancing.  There was even a conga line at one point!

Thankyou Sandy & Jim for inviting me to photograph your very amazingly funky wedding!  I hope you enjoy these images!

BIG thanks to Jas for again being an awesome second photographer and taking the awesome balcony shots in Victoria Hall!  And the quirky shot of the bystander looking in :)

FREMANTLE E SESSION {PETRINA + ROHAN}

These two are getting married tomorrow so I had better get their images up before the wedding!

I met them in Fremantle on probably the first cool morning of the year, but by 11.30am it was hot again.  Fremantle is great for just wandering around and finding new, cute little spots for photos and also hitting the old favourites like 'The Wall'.

This next one is my favourite shot of the session :)

Looking forward to tomorrow!
