My 101 in 1001

Start 1st Jan 2010 – complete by 28th September 2012

Jumping on the goal bandwagon this year, but I really want to pull some focus into my life as things have just been a little crazy in the last year or so.  I am not one for resolutions, but I love ticking things off a to do list so this is perfect for me!

Photography

1. Blog a post every day for a month

2. Shoot a wedding in a country I haven’t photographed a wedding in before (I have shot one in Indo) - Completed June 2010 (Greece Wedding)

3. Photograph a wedding in another Australian State - Booked I am off to Bendigo, Victoria in October!

4. Shoot a photo a day for 365 days (started 1st Jan 2010)

5. Reach 100 weddings photographed (have reached 74 at start of 2010)

6. Tweak my homemade photoshop actions and provide some for free and some to sell

7. Make my travel photos into photobooks (and give copies to friends who travelled with me)

8. Go to WPPI in Las Vegas!

9. Use my photography to raise money for AOP

10. Buy a portable studio kit (lights and background)

11. Get hired to do a pet photography portrait shoot

12. Perfect and write my workflow for all aspects of the business

13. Reach 1000 fans on Facebook (LONG way to go)

14. Move from Emerging AIPP member to Fully Accredited AIPP member

15. Enter photos in a photography competition

16. Perfect my marketing materials for potential client meetings

17. Perfect the packaging of my photos and discs to clients - Need to blog this!

18. Get a studio shirt with my logo on it to wear to weddings/shoots

19. Start sending out 1st year anniversary cards to past clients

20. Print another newer wedding portfolio

21. Play my first same day wedding slideshow at a wedding - Played my first one at Natalina & Leon’s wedding Jan, 2010

22. Get a ‘proper’ online proofing gallery

23. Print a baby & family portfolio

24. Print a couples portfolio

25. Post a slideshow on You Tube

26. Complete my lens wish list

27. Get a portable projector for post-shoot viewing and client meetings

28. Book 25-30 weddings for 2010/2011 season - totally booked solid till June 2011!

29. Sort through my 2004-2009 travel photos to delete, backup and edit files

30. Second shoot for a Perth Wedding Photographer

31. Do a vogue-inspired pre-wedding shoot (put your hand up if you want it to be you!)

32. Do a travel-inspired pre-wedding shoot (put your hand up if you want it to be you!)

33. Collect props for shoots/reception photos

34. Research, refresh my inspiration board

35. Define my ‘signature’ shot

36. Buy the Vogue 50 years in Australia book for inspiration

37. Buy a fashion magazine at least once a month for inspiration

38. Have a professional shoot to get my profile picture for website!

39. Attend a workshop by a photographer I admire - Jasmine Star Workshop in Sydney, Jan 2010

40. Get a new logo that represents ME! - Bubbles for my bubbly nature :) with classic blue & grey colours! Completed Feb 2010.

41. Get some new canvases printed for the house

42. Get a dual monitor Mac system for editing photos - halfway there, got the iMac and a Macbook Pro, just got to figure out how to link it if I can :)

43. Get a wedding published on an online wedding planning blog

44. Always have a camera on me!

45. Get an iPhone – this will help with #32!!

46. Finally buy the 5D MII instead of renting it for big weekends - Jan 2010, cannot live without it now!

47. Market & sell my travel photos

48. Complete photo scavenger hunt for a year

49. Go on a photo walk in Fremantle just for me!

50. Hang a pinup board of with Dale & my photos in the living area

51. Have a fine art series hanging somewhere (public!!!)

52. Set up somewhere in Freo and take quick portraits of willing people passing by and post on Flickr

53. Have my own kick-ass in-house studio

54. Do a Polaroid picture project

55. Get business stationary that I love

56. Clear out and organise my client folio

Personal

57. Cook a three-course meal

58. Do a cooking class

59. Learn 10 new (yummy) vegetarian dishes

60. Have a beautiful outdoors dinner party with pretty decorations and photograph it!

61. Try one new dinner recipe a week for a month (because I want to stop falling back on Tomato Soup)

62. Drop over to a friend’s house with baked goodies for morning tea

63. Cook a kick-ass desert!

64. Host a tapas night

65. Go to an award winning restaurant for dinner in Perth with Dale

66. Get a desert pizza from THAT pizza shop in Mundaring!

67. Refresh my basic Spanish so I can at least have the travel phrases ready for Spain/Sth America!

68. Declutter my home (an ongoing battle!)

69. Sort the home office so it is a workable environment and not just storing photos, albums and receipts

70. Revamp my wardrobe so there is only items & colours I wear in there

71. Save 6 months worth of living expenses for an emergency fund

72. Get back into a good morning routine

73. Take Lola to the dog beach twice a week for a month in Summer

74. Ride to work once a week for one month - Completed March, 2010

75. Go to the gym 3 times a week for 3 months (have to change this to use my home gym as I am setting one up at home to save time and money)

76. Run 5km

77. Upgrade the unit to a house - YAY!  Completed June 2010

78. Spend an entire day in bed reading (BLISS!) just cause I can

79. Get and maintain my acrylic nails for 3 months - Completed April 2010 (but won’t be doing this again, too much maintenance for my busy life!)

80. Have a gourmet picnic with Dale

81. Read all the ‘to read’ books on my bookshelf (and try not to add more till they are read!) - so far epically failing at this one as I keep buying books!

82. Sit and watch the sunset on a beach with Dale without the camera

83. Watch Dale compete in a kitesurfing competition

84. Have a ‘date’ night with Dale once a month  (9/33)

85. Send traditional thank-you notes when I receive gifts

86. Buy some cool cowboy boots (I know stupid but I really want a pair)

87. Watch 10 old classic movies in 2010

Travel

88. Live or travel to 65 countries (currently 55)

89. Get fit enough so I can trek Machu Picchu

90. Trek Machu Picchu

91. Travel to India

92. Eat tapas in Spain

93. Do the trans-siberian train journey

94. Stay at a genuine eco-resort

95. Drive or take the train across the Nullarbor

96. Visit Uluru

97. Go up to Gnarloo with Dale on a camping trip

98. Go for a hike in the hills of Perth

99. Travel round Tasmania in a campervan

Just Because

100. Do a 101 in 1001 at the end of this one!

101. Donate $20 for each item I don’t tick off to the Australian Orangutan Project

    This is the best idea, and awesome list - nice work!! I think I am going to have to jump right on a do one of my own!
