The Dempsters: Family Photography

Kristen contacted me for a family portrait session at the end of last year. She had seen my blog post of Kat & Andrew in Fremantle and wanted some shots of her family in the same location. I love Freo and it is such an amazing photographic location. I met Kristen & Nick and their kids at the Cliff Street wall and we had a few shots on the wall before the rest of the family turned up.

Suddenly there was 10 Dempsters spanning three generations all joking around with each other. We headed to the roundhouse for a few whole family shots then, as it was a hot day, down to the little beach by the roundhouse to finish off the session. Eventually the kids got sick of photos and headed to the water to cool off while the sun sank into the ocean.

These are awesome Emma, my favourite family session of yours yet! You did will with so many too, I really struggle with large family groups. I imagine you would be used to it with weddings though :)

Yup! 10 is a breeze when you are usually dealing with 50 - 100! I love the way the bigger groups bounce off each other as well and this way the kids were entertained by their uncles, aunt and grandparents so it was a bit of fun for them so it didn’t matter that it took an hour and a half!
